Leap Day!

Hi there!  Not only is it Friday but it is also Leap Day!  Think about if your birthday was today… You would only get to celebrate your birthday every other year.  I guess that could be a good thing too.  Or what about your anniversary.

Well, I wanted to post some pictures from our festivities from cook-off last night but I can not fnd the cord that links up to my computer for my new camera.  I need to find that!  We had a great time and after a late night it is great to wake up and not have to worry about putting contacts in my eyes!  Lasik has been wonderful!  Last night was a blast and you got it- we get to do it again tonight and tomorrow too!  Not sure if I’ll make it to Saturday but I hope so!

Look forward to seeing more friendly faces tonight and two steppin’ the night away.  Maybe a nap would be nice today too!  Like that will ever happen though!

First Day of Cook-Off

Hi there and hope you are enjoying this beautiful Thursday!  It’s the first day of cook-off and everyone is gearing up for rodeo season.  Traffic is going to be horrendous and parking is going to be just the same.  A little disappointed that George Strait won’t be at rodeo this year but there is a great line up!  I’ve got my cowboy hat and I’m ready to go for tonight.  Looking forward to seeing so many clients together and everyone enjoying good food, good drinks and great music!  Houston just wouldn’t be the same without cook-off and rodeo that’s for sure.  There are so many people the come into town for it and cook-off launches our official rodeo time.  Everyone gets out of their suits and dress clothes for some jeans and boots- it’s great!  I like people watching a looking around at everyone.  So many smiles and friendly faces!  Hope you make it out there…

Hump Day!

Hi there and Happy Wednesday!  Another gorgeous day out!  It’s a little chilly though and I just hope that it stays like this for cook-off this weekend.  In Houston the cook-off and rodeo is a huge ordeal!!!  If you’ve never been you should put it on your to-do list this year.  There are so many great acts and now with getting lasik done I’ll actually be able to see the show with my own eyes!  It’s amazing to think about all the things that I am able to see on my own now.  It’s truly life-changing.

I’m starting to get geared up for rodeo and cook-odd, especially since cook-off is this weekend and I’ve got the jeans and boots on.  Getting ready for some good country and 80’s music to dance the night away…

I hope you’re thinking about lasik and how it can benefit you just like it did me!  You have nothing to lose- only the world to gain!!!

It’s A New Week!

Hi there and Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?  I hope you enjoyed the gorgeous weather as well!  My brother-in-law came into town and it has been a while since I’ve seen him.  It was great to spend some time with him.  On Saturday he helped me with my new ipod nano and try to figure out how to work that thing.  He’s pretty tech savvy and all this ipod stuff is really new to me.  I went running on Saturday though and I absolutely love using my new nano!  Technology has come so far!  Then since I love entertaining and cooking we BBQ’d Saturday night before we went out.  Of course what every male loves- steak, chicken and shrimp.  Can’t go wrong with that combination!  Everyone was happy and for me- I had my stuffed jalapenos.  I’m quite simple!  I just love them!  After dinner we ended up going out for a bit.  I had not been to this part of Houston in a while.  It was a nice evening and great patio weather.  Found a patio and we all enjoyed a cocktail.  It was great to hear about life with him and see how things are going.

Then on Sunday I had to do major laundry and while I was doing it I had to clean out the lint and got some major dust in my eyes.  If I had contacts still it would of been terrible but since lasik there were no issues with contacts coming out or not being able to see and irritation.  It was great!  I just love my lasik!

What were your weekend festivites like?

It’s Thursday!

Hey there!

Just starting to get everything set up for the day.  It’s been a busy week, that’s for sure!  What about you?  How is your week going so far?  Work? Life? Thoughts of lasik?

I’m actually going to be heading over to Mann Eye soon for a check up and didn’t know if any of you had looked into them or called. Funny story too- my other was out shopping and remember she got lasik done a little over a month ago at Mann Eye.  She ran into one of the techs there that has been a big help to her and of course when she saw him he gave her a big hug and they chatted for a minute or two.  It’s great to have that kind of relationship with your doctors and especially with the people that are doing your lasik procedure.  This is what good customer service is all about!  Just something that you should really consider about lasik….

Have a great Thursday!

Hump Day!

Hi there and good morning!

It really does not feel like a Wednesday.  I am gearing up for rodeo and cook-off and am very excited about the up-coming festivities.  I’ll be going with a co-worker of mine all three nights and then will have various friends and family there on different nights.  Everyone loves rodeo and cook-off!  It’s fun for all and is a long three days for me with clients and entertaining.  There are so many people that come and I want to make sure to say “hi” to everyone!  There are so many clients that have and have not seen me since my lasik procedure and I know many of them have had it done as well!  This year I won’t have to worry about getting my contacts in after a long night at cook-off!

Not only does that have me busy but I am also volunteering for the YMCA Youth and Government program- running the Media Program.  Right up my alley.  I’m working with high school students and working on their public speaking and writing skills will be very helpful in their future.  With jobs, college, etc.  I love working with kids and making a difference in others lives.

Have a great day!

A typical Tuesday…

Hi there!  It has been a long day and my volunteer work will have me working late today.  I am helping out with a program that the YMCA does- Youth and Government.  A great way to mentor kids and be a good role model. We have our first 2008 meeting tonight at 6pm!  It should be exciting and I’m meeting them all for the first time. Wish me luck!

Besides that, today has been a long day and there have been many fires to put out.  You know what I mean!  I hope your day was better than mine!  With all the hassles and stress in our lives I’m glad that dealing with my glasses and contacts are not one of them anymore!  In that aspect I’m hassle free thanks to lasik and Mann Eye!  I just wish all the other things were as easy to solve!

Have a great evening and take care!

A New Week!

Hi there and Happy President’s Day as well!  I assume many of you have the day off, but not I!  Despite the gloomy weather on Saturday, Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day!  On Saturday my girl friend and I got stuck in the rain on our 6 mile walk at the park, but it was so refreshing and was good for us to catch up.  We of course weren’t the only ones enjoying the rain drizzle.  Made me thankful for not having to worry about glasses because many times I would wear my glasses on the weekend more since I would sleep in or just be running errands.  I would of been miserable walking in the rain with glasses!

Then, on Sunday I was amazed to see the sun out and it was a wonderful day.  I have been wanting to BBQ and this was the perfect day for this.  From running around all day and doing some shopping I made sure to get all the ingredients for a great dinner on the grill!  A little steak, some BBQ chicken that I let marinate, some zucchini and onions marinated with bacon wrapped shrimp.  A little bit of everything and since I have been wanting to BBQ for so long I also made some burgers so that’s what I’ll be having for dinner tonight!  It was delicious and the smell of the grill plus the food was great!  I couldn’t ask for any better way to end the weekend.

How was your weekend?

Happy Friday!

Hi there!  How are things going?  I am very glad that it’s friday and I hope that everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  What did you do?

I had a client meeting at 4:30p so ended up getting stuck in traffic around 6p.  Was not very happy about that!  I was hoping to get home early to be able to clean and get dinner ready!  It all ended up working out though.

I am ready for the weekend and hoping that the rain doesn’t come back.  I’m in need of a spring cleaning weekend!  One thing I’m just not a bog fan of is dusting.  Mopping and vacuuming is not a problem (especially since I have a roomba!) but dusting is just not my thing.  Time for a good once over around the house that’s for sure.  Time is my worst enemy sometimes!

Have a wonderful weekend and hope you have some fun things planned.  I’m eye putt putt golf or bowling and have yet found the time to do them…one of these days hopefully!

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi there and Happy Valentine’s Day!  The sun is out and I have my fingers crossed for a fabulous day!

I have the funniest story though- as I was driving into work there were guys lined up on one of the main streets in the Galleria area and they reminded me of the commercial during last year’s Super Bowl.  They’re all holding signs with numbers to get their Valentine’s Date and they were just swarming the cars as everyone is sitting their in rush hour traffic.  Just hilarious!  I of course am just sitting there in my car with the radio giggling to myself at the things people do.  I’m always amazed!

Also, one thing that I did realize as all of these guys are holding up signs is that- yes, I can read them! Some were far and some were close but all of them I was able to read!  Nothing was blurry, etc- perfect vision thanks to my lasik procedure.  It’s so natural now and I feel like I’ve always had natural good vision!

Well, have a wonderful Valentine’s Day and hope you show that special some one how much they mean to you!  It’s the small stuff that counts and that will last a life time of love and happiness!  xoxo!
